Dear Family & Friends of The Village at Brookwood:

Recently, Governor Cooper announced North Carolina will transition to Phase 2 as of Friday, May 22 at 5:00 PM. Even though the key metrics being monitored at the state level remain stable, the number of cases statewide continue to increase. The Governor and his team have decided to proceed with a modified version of Phase 2 guidelines.

Although the Stay at Home Order has been lifted with Phase 2, it is still encouraged that the vulnerable populations continue to stay at home. However, Phase 2 also known as Safer at Home does relax restrictions on several activities and servicesavailable on our campus.

As we have discussed, The Village at Brookwood will utilize the Governor’s plan, along with many other resources, as a guide to how we transition to a “new normal.” Please understand that we will re-instate services at a rate that, we feel, will allow our campus the best possible chance to prevent an outbreak from occurring.

  • As of Wednesday, May 27, our Beauty Salon will re-open for hair care services by appointment only.
  • Also, as of May 27 our wellness screening team will perform wellness screens of our independent living residents in full personal protective equipment, PPE, in response to the transition to Phase 2. This adds another layer of protection for our team members who also provide care to our most compromised residents – those living in healthcare. As of June 1, wellness screenings will be performed twice weekly.
  • On Monday, June 1, we will re-open our swimming pool on a limited basis Monday – Friday mornings for our residents by appointment only. The pool will be available in the afternoons to allow our therapy team to resume aquatic therapy with patients.
  • Beginning June 1, select Life Enrichment activities will allow limited in-person participation. We will adhere to Phase 2 guidance for gatherings to be 10 or fewer and maintain 6 feet social distancing. Residents must contact Life Enrichment to register on a first call basis.

We are thrilled to begin loosening restrictions on campus at The Village at Brookwood. If you choose to participate, please remember to wear your mask, practice social distancing, and wash your hands often. We still recommend that you eliminate all unnecessary travel at this time.

As always, thank you again for your confidence, support, and trust as we collectively navigate these challenging times. It is truly a blessing to serve each of our residents and their families.
