The Freedom and security of a Life Plan Community

One of the many great benefits of The Village at Brookwood is that we’re a premier nonprofit Life Plan Community (also known as a CCRC). Whether you choose a LifeCare or Fee-for-Service agreement, you’ll have the confidence that comes from knowing you’ll always have access to a full continuum of excellent health care right here on campus if you should ever need it — without financial surprises.

Lifecare

A LifeCare Plan (Type A contract) guards your savings from potential health care costs should you ever need long-term care in the future. It provides high-quality services such as assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation and skilled nursing in a comfortable, residential-like environment at significantly lower rates than the standard healthcare charges. A portion of your entrance fee and monthly service fee is tax-deductible (be sure to consult your tax advisor for your individual situation).

Residents of The Village at Brookwood receive the following services through the LifeCare agreement:

  • All property taxes included
  • All utilities including telephone, basic cable television and personal internet
  • Home maintenance, landscaping and replacement of appliances
  • Interior and exterior pest control
  • Transportation services within a 30-mile radius
  • One meal per day in independent living
  • Weekly housekeeping
  • 24-hour wireless emergency response with location tracking
  • On-site health clinic
  • Priority access to health care

Fee-For-Service

If you already have a long-term care insurance policy (over and above Medicare or health insurance) or feel you’re prepared for the increasing costs of health care, the Fee-for-Service contract may be a good option for you. As a resident at The Village at Brookwood, you’ll still have priority access to the full continuum of services, including rehab, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing, but unlike the LifeCare Plan, you’ll be responsible for the per diem costs for any admissions into supported levels of care. A portion of your entrance fee and monthly service fee is tax-deductible (be sure to consult your tax advisor for your individual situation).

The Fee-for-Service agreement provides residents the following services:

  • All property taxes included
  • All utilities including telephone, cable television and personal internet
  • Home maintenance, landscaping and replacement of appliances
  • Interior and exterior pest control
  • 15 meals per month in independent living
  • Biweekly housekeeping
  • 24-hour wireless emergency response with location tracking
  • On-site health clinic
  • Priority access to health care
