Why are lifelong learning and senior education such distinctive features of The Village at Brookwood lifestyle? Because intellectual growth is key to maintaining one’s well-being and happiness. It’s a whole lot of fun, too!
Every week, you’ll have the chance to expand your mind through a wide array of multifaceted opportunities like stimulating book clubs and reading groups; computer classes; and trips to community cultural events, museums and music concerts held in here in Burlington, NC, and beyond.
Our residents also love attending the numerous guest speaking engagements at nearby Elon University. Such notable speakers in the past have included Colin Powell, Jane Goodman and Desmond Tutu.

Through our special relationship with Elon University located just 3 miles away, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in Life@Elon, an educational program that offers semesterlong, half-day courses that meet on Tuesday mornings and afternoons. You can choose from a number of classes that cover a diverse range of subjects, such as “Social Media: Understanding Our Grandchildren” or “Archeological Adventures in the Republic of Jordan.”
All new residents at The Village at Brookwood are offered a full-year’s membership toward the Life@Elon program. Along with convenient parking for classes, Life@Elon members have borrowing privileges at Elon’s Belk Library and discount tickets to many events on campus.
